Salad Beach on Koh Phangan in Thailand
Haad Salad, translated from English as Thai Salad Beach is a beautiful beach on the northwest coast of Koh Phangan in the Gulf of Thailand. The beach is just minutes from the main port of Tongsala and because of the construction of new roads around the island, it is very easy to drive the same on a scooter.
The perfect white sand beach is nearly two hundred meters long and surrounded by green hills of the island. Fifty yards into the emerald green sea, you will find a vibrant coral reef that has become a popular site for snorkeling and diving. Here you can swim with tropical fish, rays and even spotted groupers. If you are looking for a fresh bath then you will be enchanted by the pristine waters located between the beach and the reef. The thought of the year the tides change and you will see that the sea between the beach and the reef is shallow. If you’re a seafood lover, you will be more enjoyed the menu that creates the low tide. You notice the people in the slums of collecting oysters that are just beneath the surface of the sand and take them directly to the kitchen to prepare dinner.
Salad Beach is known by locals as “Haadlad” and leads to the beach pirate. It was said that the secluded bay used to be frequented by pirates hide the goods and even people. More than three decades pirates ceased go to the beach, local landowners and fishermen have built houses and shelters. Then, with the tourism boom in the early 1980s, housing has begun to be built for tourists. Accommodation on the range now offers the full diversity of small beach bungalows to luxury villas and resorts. During the past decade Salad Beach has really changed to simply provide beach huts to now provides something out of a garden villa hotel 5 stars. Fortunately, local landowners who opened the stations have been careful to preserve all the buildings in good taste, the adoption of traditional Thai architecture with the most contemporary styles and designs. The merger creates one of the drawings and models Zen living environment where you will experience complete peace among tropical plants and huge rocks that are often incorporated into the design of buildings.
If you plan to relax by your own private pool, go snorkeling with tropical fish or just visit and enjoy fresh fish at the restaurant of the day Salad Beach can satisfy your every desire. If you are traveling to Koh Phangan for the first time, it would be better for you to arrange accommodation and collection of port before arriving on the island. This way you are guaranteed the most stress free arrival. From there you can rent jeeps, motorcycles or mountain bikes and exploring at your own pace. As an alternative to ground travel is no better way to see the island on board as a long tail boat trip. The long-tail boats are still used for fishing, but they have now been adjusted to take tourists around the island. If you prefer a little luxury and speed boat trips can be arranged.
